What are teeth veneers?
Teeth veneers are a type of cosmetic procedure. They are thin coatings of ceramic or porcelain that cover the front and biting surface of natural teeth. Dentists use a bonding agent to permanently cement the coating.
Our dentists can use this procedure to treat a single tooth or transform your whole smile. We custom-make each one to ensure the shape, colour, and length is an exact match. To further ensure a natural look, we perfectly align the coating to your gumline.

Why might I need a veneer?
Veneers are ideal for:
- Fixing cracks/chips
- Closing gaps between teeth
- Lightening stains or discolouration
- Lengthening teeth
- Fixing an irregularly shaped tooth
Note that more serious issues might require different types of restorative dental procedures. A crown, for instance, might be a better option for treating a major chip. This is because a crown covers the entire tooth rather than just the front and biting surface.

Should I get a ceramic or composite resin veneer?
We make our veneers out of either ceramic (porcelain) or composite resin. Patients frequently ask us which is better.
There’s not necessarily a “better” option; which one is right for you will depend on your situation. Book an appointment today for advice specific to your situation.
Ceramic
Generally speaking, ceramic is the more desirable option. The material looks just like a real tooth as it is naturally translucent. It is very strong and resistant to cracks and chips. Plus, it is easy to take care of and won’t stain over time.
Composite resin
Composite resin isn’t quite as desirable as ceramic. It isn’t as strong and doesn’t reflect light the same way a natural tooth does. And, it is prone to staining over time.
All of that being said, composite resin is still a good option for some patients. It is more affordable than ceramic and can be applied in a single appointment.
What does the procedure look like?
At your first appointment, we will prepare your tooth and take impressions using the revolutionary 3Shape Trios scanner. Our lab will get these scans right away and use them to craft a precise-fitting veneer (made of either ceramic or composite resin).
Then, our team will fit you with a temporary veneer. We will remove this temporary one at your next appointment and replace it with your final veneer. If needed, we will make any necessary adjustments.
Note that we also have same-day composite resin veneers available. You’ll only need one appointment where one of our dentists expertly crafts the veneer as you sit in the chair. Book your appointment today to see which option is right for you.
