Mouthguards in Quakers Hill
Custom-fitted mouthguards offer significantly better protection and comfort than over-the-counter alternatives. At Complete Family Dental, we fit mouthguards for both sports protection and for patients who grind or clench their teeth at night.
Custom mouthguards and splints
A properly fitted sports mouthguard can reduce the risk of dental injuries during contact sports, and provides some protection against concussion. Over-the-counter and boil-and-bite options generally provide a loose fit and reduced protection compared to a professionally fitted device.
An occlusal splint, or night guard, is a custom device worn during sleep for people who grind or clench their teeth. It creates a barrier between the upper and lower teeth, reducing wear and relieving pressure on the jaw joints.
Who benefits from a mouthguard or splint
- Children and adults who play contact sports
- People who grind or clench their teeth at night (bruxism)
- Anyone with worn, flattened, or chipped teeth
- Those with morning jaw soreness, headaches, or unexplained sensitivity

Questions about mouthguards
Not sure your child will actually wear one?
Let them choose the colour. It sounds like a small thing, but it’s the biggest single factor in whether the guard leaves the bag.
