You don't need to decide anything today.
If you’ve been putting off a dental visit because of anxiety, uncertainty, or a long gap since your last appointment, you’re not alone. Many of our patients come to us after years away from the dentist. We don’t judge, and we don’t rush.
We go gently.
- We pause whenever you need.
- We explain everything first.
- No judgement, no rush.
The first visit is just a conversation.
Some patients simply want to have a conversation and see the practice before committing to an examination. That’s completely fine, you set the pace, and nothing happens until you’re ready.
What to expect on your first visit
A first appointment at Complete Family Dental can be whatever you need it to be. Some patients simply want to have a conversation and see the practice before committing to an examination. That’s completely fine.
If you’re ready for a check-up, we’ll work through it step by step, checking in as we go and pausing whenever you need us to. We explain what we’re seeing as we go, so there are no surprises.
At the end of the appointment, we’ll talk through what we found and, if treatment is needed, explain your options clearly. There’s no pressure to proceed on the day.
Three steps to feeling more comfortable
Tell us before you arrive
When you book, let us know that you feel nervous or that it has been a while. We’ll make a note so the team is aware before you walk in.
Ask every question you have
There are no silly questions. We would rather spend five minutes explaining something than have you leave with a concern you didn’t voice.
Stay in control
You can stop at any time. We use a simple signal system during treatment, so you always have a way to pause if you need a moment.
The first visit can be just a hello.
No examination, no pressure, come in, meet us, and see the space. You can decide the rest when it feels right.
Sedation options for significant anxiety
For patients who experience significant dental anxiety that prevents them from attending appointments, we can discuss sedation options at your consultation. Options can include inhalation sedation (happy gas), oral sedation, and IV sedation. Our team will discuss which approach may be appropriate for you based on your circumstances.
These options are available for adults and children. Please mention at the time of booking that you would like to discuss sedation.
